1. Purpose & Scope
Afrobook UK connects clients with verified cultural performers and event organisers across the UK. This Code applies to all users — performers, organisers and clients — without exception.

2. Off-Platform Booking Policy
Once a client and performer connect through Afrobook, all bookings must remain on-platform forever.
⚠️ Penalty for Off-Platform Bookings
• Permanent ban from Afrobook UK • £2,000 penalty fee invoiced immediately to the user or performer • Removal of all profile data and reviews • Legal action may be pursued to recover platform losses
This penalty exists to ensure all parties are fairly protected. Clients and performers are made fully aware of this policy at registration.

3. First Booking Discount
New clients automatically receive 10% off their first confirmed performer booking — no code needed.

4. Ticket Purchase Policy

For Customers: Ticket purchases are generally non-refundable unless an event is cancelled, rescheduled, or significantly altered by the organiser.

Event Postponed: Your ticket will automatically transfer to the new date. Refund windows for rescheduled events are set by the promoter.

For Organisers/Ticket Sellers: If you cancel an event entirely, you must authorise full refunds to all ticket buyers. Platform service fees may still apply to the seller depending on your tier.

Date/Venue Changes: If you change the date, time, or venue of an event, you must notify ticket holders immediately through the platform and provide a mandatory refund window of minimum 14 days for those who cannot make the new date.

5. Cancellations & Refunds — Performer Bookings
For Customers:

30 days or above before event: 50% of deposit refunded

Under 30 days before event: No refund on deposit
For Performers:

Performer cancellation: Full refund to client plus 50% of deposit as penalty payable to the client
For Organisers:

Event cancellation: Full refund to all ticket buyers must be authorised immediately
▸
Event rescheduled: Minimum 14-day refund window must be provided to ticket holders
▸
Platform fees: Service fees may not be refundable depending on organiser tier

6. Respect & Good Faith
All users of Afrobook UK — clients, performers and organisers — are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect at all times. Any form of harassment, discrimination or bad faith dealings will result in immediate suspension from the platform.
